Zanna has now learned how to say “What’s that?” and point to something. Of course it sounds more like “Gwah dat?” but the meaning is still very clear.
Halle has also discovered how to stack her oversize blocks together! I’m so proud of my babies’ progress!
I’m trying to read to them as much as I can. They seem to prefer rhyming text with colorful pictures. We’re signed up with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which sends 2 copies of a free book once a month to them. We signed each of them up separately, so they each get their own copy of the same book.
Here’s the link:

So far, we’ve received “The Little Engine That Could” and “Raindrop, Plop!” The girls are wild over the raindrop book! They love when I count the objects, and ask them to find the doggie in each picture. They also like pointing to different objects and getting me to tell them what it is.
I also made swedish meatballs for them using ground turkey, which they liked, so hopefully the tryptophan in the turkey will help Halle sleep better.
The Holistic Mom’s Network email group also recommended a book, “The Happiest Toddler on the Block” and whitenoise cds or machines, so we’ll try them one-by-one and see if we can get our littlest insomniac settled down.
I’ll keep ya posted.

Ya know, it’s just come to my attention that an inordinate amount of my posts on this blog in some way or other reference my daughters’ eliminatory processes…in other words, poo.
Baby poo has in fact taken over our lives. I plan their diet according to their quality of poo, and even sometimes tweak it (the diet, not the poo) to arrange for a slowdown when we go on a car trip.
By this time, I can pretty much create a made-to-order poo, depending, of course, on whether the girls will eat the requisite foodstuffs necessary for proper elimination. Anyway, I could go on and on like this for days.
At least my husband and I no longer do a victory dance when the babies succeed in having a BM.
I’ll try to refrain from mentioning the p-word in posts for awhile, unless of course I get comments practically begging me to write about the time one of the girls had a champion long-distance poo-shoot that reached a distance of over a meter away.

I decided to not re-up my membership in either Starfleet (the local branch seceeded from the union) and the “local” Parents of Multiples”, as it’s way too far away for me to attend any meetings - and on a Thurs. nite, no less, when my husband works late.
Instead, I’ve joined the Holistic Moms Network. They’re a lot closer and they meet on Saturday mornings, which is more doable for me, and right across the street is an indoor playground (they charge $6 per kid), and down the street is a waterfountain park for kids to play in on sunny days, and another park close by.
Also, what is really nifty, is that the meeting takes place in Whole Foods, which means I can get a little shopping done afterwards of things I couldn’t buy from the organic co-op I usually get deliveries from.
Speaking of food, my little darlings are being awfully picky this week. It seems they’ll only eat things that come in nuggets and raviolis. They’ll eat fish and chicken nuggets, and so far, beef/spinach raviolis, squash raviolis, chicken raviolis and cheese raviolis.
Surprise, surprise, they’re also constipated. I’m now supplementing with pureed prunes.
Luckily they still drink their juice, so I can get veggies into them that way. They seem to not mind that their juice ranges in color from yellowy to dark green, from one day to the next.
I’ve also started trying a product called Moxxor, that I heard about from NaturalNews.com. I’ve even become a distributor. You can read all about it in the “Special Opportunity” section on the left. So far it’s worked on the leg cramps that were keeping me awake at night, even if I was so lucky as to get my insomniac twin to sleep.

I’ve learned something this past weekend. Something IMPORTANT. Do you want to know my Great Discover? Lean a little closer and I’ll tell you. This is earthshattering and you just may faint from the shock of it. Ok, ready? Seated comfortably? Here goes…If you take your child to play in the water, whether it’s a pool, the beach or a fountain park, you must absolutely, without fail, PUT A DIAPER ON THEIR CUTE L’IL REAR ENDS, BEFORE you put on their swim pants/bathing suit!!!
You cannot, dear reader, leave it up to fate, chance, the whims of toddler constipation, or whatever, trusting that since they just poo’ed, that you’ll be safe. Oh no, that way lies madness! And let me tell you, moisturized poos are absolutely HORRIBLE to try to clean out of those terrycloth swimpants! And these were multi-grain poos! (I’ve just started giving the girls Kashi(tm) crackers for more fiber.)
My husband deserves to be canonized for sainthood for bravely volunteering to wash out those toxic waste dumps! (He says he’d actually rather have a Starbucks venti decaff, than sainthood, so if you’d like to buy him one, feel free to click on the paypal link on the left, it will make him so happy! Or leave a comment of commiseration/sympathy for him below and I’ll pass that on :) )
