I love singing to my babies. Thankfully, they’re so young that they haven’t developed a discerning ear for what is good music, and what isn’t.
I’m afraid their Mama falls into the latter category.
I mean, I totally rock (if I do say so myself) when it comes to lyrics, but my music tends to be repetitive and more than slightly off-key.
Be that as it may, I’ve decided to torture (*cough* ahem!) I mean ENTERTAIN you, my dear reader with some of the lyrics from my best songs. These are the songs that the girls didn’t actually start wailing in misery at hearing more than once, or even once. Therefore they’re golden! De’nile ain’t justa river in Egypt!
This one’s a golden oldie from waaayyy back when the twins were 4 months old.
I have to give credit for the chorus lyrics and chorus tune to Bubbe Judith.
The Baby Freedom Fighter SongWe are babies, we are cute – and we fight for baby freedom! We are babies, we are cute – and we fight for the right to wear clean diapers! We are babies, we are cute – and we fight for the right to make some noise! We are babies, we are cute – and we fight for the right to play with toys! Chorus (x2) Power to the babies Power to the bunnies Power to the butterflies – Woot! Woot!
The next wonderful piece of music I call:
Beans are very special! We like beans, lot and lots of beans Beans are very special. We like beans, mountains of beans Beans are very special. Beans are nice (beans are nice) Served with rice (served with rice) Beans are very special. We like beans, lots and lots of beans, Beans are very special. Beans are nice, very very nice Beans are very special. Beans are nice, really reallly nice Beans are very special. (and when the beans have taken effect, you can substitute the word “poo” instead of beans and the song can thusly be recycled, like the beans were.)
