Recipes for the #Brave !!

Admit it, you’ve got the most intense craving for Cullen Skink! (No, Team Edward, it’s not what you think!) Or how about some yummy Scotch Eggs?

Just click on the pic below (it will open in a new window as a PDF file) for your very own set of recipes inspired by the movie Brave, opening June 22 in U.S. theatres near you!

(I am SO looking forward to this movie! I love strong female characters, plus there are multiples in it! Triplets! And I love Scottish accents!)

Set in the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland, Disney*Pixar’s “Brave” follows the heroic journey of Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald), a skilled archer and headstrong daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson).

Determined to change her fate, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the unruly and uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane), unleashing chaos in the kingdom.

When she turns to an eccentric Witch (voice of Julie Walters), she is granted an ill-fated wish and the ensuing peril forces Merida to harness all of her resources – including her mischievous triplet brothers – to undo a beastly curse and discover the meaning of true bravery.

Directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman, and produced by Katherine Sarafian, “Brave” is a grand adventure full of heart, memorable characters and signature Pixar humor. In Disney Digital 3D(tm) in select theaters.

BRAVE arrives in theaters everywhere on June 22nd!

  1. I’m not sure I want to try “Skink”, but Scotch Eggs are awesome! My husband begs me to make them every weekend, but they’re definitely NOT heart healthy (eggs AND sausage deep fried? Wowza.) so I make them on Father’s Day and his birthday, and let him eat as many as he can. So far, he’s up to 6. (Yes, six eggs wrapped in sausage and deep fried. Needless to say, I make sure the life insurance is paid up before cooking!)

  2. LOL! Yes Katie, I know what you mean about letting the menfolk eat what they like – it’s why I always make sure someone’s keeping an eye on my hubby if have to go on an extended trip without him.
I learned my lesson many years ago when I returned after two weeks to a kitchen trash can overflowing with wrappers from candy, cake, you name it, and him complaining that his stomach hurt!

  3. They’re like little kids when we’re not around, aren’t they? My husband keeps suggesting I go visit my mother for a week or two this summer, while he watches the house and our son. Uh, no. For one thing, I’d come home to a trashcan similar to yours… in every room! For another, I am 99% certain neither he nor my son would eat anything that actually grew from the earth that entire time. And I shudder to think what the load of whites in the laundry room would look like after that.
