I love breakfast, and one of the best parts of breakfast is when you have it for lunch, dinner, and maybe that middle-of-the-night snack 🙂
And the kind of breakfast I love most is the kind that someone else makes for me!
Let’s face it – we’re busy people, we moms.  And any meal that someone else gets to shop, prep, cook, serve and clean up after, is like a mini-vacation for us where we’re practically waited on, hand and foot.  Sounds nice, doesn’t it?
Yep.
So when I heard that Sonic drive-thru restaurants was having a new promotion along with with Wholly Guacamole, I was only too happy to make a bee-line for my closest Sonic to try their new Salsa Verde Breakfast items.
“The Salsa Verde Breakfast Toaster is made with crispy bacon, bold salsa verde, fluffy eggs, fresh onions and melted American cheese, sandwiched between two thick slices of Texas Toast. The Salsa Verde Breakfast Burrito is comprised of the same savory, quality ingredients, as well as melted cheddar cheese and Sonic Drive-In’s signature Tots, all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla. Named for its green color, salsa verde is a tangy combination of fire-roasted tomatillos, onions, jalapenos and roasted garlic, lending a slight heat and deep roasted flavor to these breakfast favorites. Both the toaster and the burrito are finished off with Whollyâ„¢ Avocado — all-natural, 100 percent Hass avocado brought to you by the makers of Wholly Guacamole® brand, America’s number one selling guacamole. The Salsa Verde Breakfast Burrito
I like a little zing in my food.  Not too spicy, just enough.  Me and Goldilocks are of a similar bent here.  And this Burrito delivers.  Just enough heat to give it a little kick, but not enough that I’ve got to put out a forest fire in my mouth.
Nice chunks of sausage tucked in here and there (though the description said ‘bacon’, mine had sausage, but I think either one is tasty!).  Oooo, and there’s REAL diced onions that actually taste like onions, all sweet, juicy and oniony!  The Tater-Tots are a nice addition, gives it a bit of texture and potato-y goodness, the egg is fresh and there’s just the right amount of cheese that doesn’t overpower the other flavors.  And best of all – REAL guacamole!  I like Wholly Guacamole, anyway, but it does very nice things for this burrito!  And the Salsa Verde sauce is pretty good!  It isn’t all tomato-y like red salsas are, it’s just right for this burrito, helps all the flavors merge and work together.  The Salsa Verde and the Wholly Guacamole bump it up a couple notches from pretty good regular breakfast burrito to ‘Yes, now I feel like I’m getting my ‘Breakfast Mini-Vacation’!’
Sonic and Wholly Guacamole are also debuting the Salsa Verde Toaster Breakfast Sandwich, which features more of that lovely Wholly Guacamole.
How would you like a little Salsa Verde Breakfast mini-vaycay of your own?
